Dr. Steven Budoff, DO, MBA,
Co-Founder

“I set out on a path that would make a difference in the world and the lives of others,” says Dr. Steven Budoff, founder of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Solutions. Indeed, Dr. Budoff has dedicated his career to serving patients throughout the Tri-State area for the past three decades. A well-respected psychiatrist, he founded Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Solutions in Raritan, NJ, and extends his expertise to private practices in Summit and East Brunswick, as well as community agencies in Bound Brook, Flemington, Oceanport, and Lumberton.

Dr. Budoff's journey to medicine was shaped by a diverse range of interests, including music, business, and law. He studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and was admitted to several law schools. However, he realized that neither business nor law were the professions where he would make his mark. “I knew that I could truly affect others by becoming a doctor,” he reflects. This realization led him to attend the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his internship and residency, he pursued a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. His practice now includes patients of all ages, far beyond his initial focus on geriatrics.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Budoff is the Co-founder and Co-Director of SRB Philanthropy Corp., a 501(c)(3) organization that provides scholarships and support to individuals pursuing careers in mental health. His commitment to service is evident in his role as a collaborator for many Advanced Practice Nurses across New Jersey, in addition to the four who are part of his practice.

A pivotal moment in Dr. Budoff’s career was his decision to enlist as a reservist in the Army Medical Corps as a commissioned officer. In response to the need for psychiatrists to support soldiers with PTSD, he served during Operation Noble Eagle, launched immediately following 9/11. His service at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg and Fort Knox exemplified his dedication, and he rose to the rank of Major.

As Dr. Budoff celebrates 35 years in practice, he looks forward to furthering his impact through an MS program in Non-profit Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Social Policy & Practice, beginning in the fall of 2025. His career reflects a profound dedication to improving the lives of others through medicine, mentorship, and philanthropy.
